Relabel your clothes, because the value of an item
is not in the brand name or in the fibers it's made of.
There is much more to a cloth that only its users can tell.

Relabeled is a clothes labeling system based on the idea that label information are on one side too much and on one side too little. They are too much when a company translate basic information in all languages, resulting in long itchy labels that will be prontly cut away by the first users. Cutting away labels though means deleting useful data, but this usefulness is often not even considered. How many people actually care about the fibers and the textile care codes? Label information are too little instead when we would like to know more about our piece of cloth. Where does it comes from, how was it produced, how and where the textile was made and especially concerning second hand clothes we might wonder about their previous life. Trying to find a solution to these problems came the idea of linking a label to some info, rather then embedding the info into the label. How much more is there to know about our clothes? Relabeled project will help clothes to communicate their history and perhaps challenge people to extend items life cycle and producers to be more transparent about their products. By using the nowadays so infiltrating qr-code technology printed on labels, a webpage connected to each cloth will be created. This page will tell as much as it's known or it's possible to discover about an item, and will be editable by future users. Each page will be personal and not public. Personal to the cloth and it's owner/s.
