You can find here information on reading, writing and printing labels

- If you want to read a garment story:
What you have to do is to simply scan the label using a qr-code reader. You can find the most suitable to your platform online. We use Zbar, an opensource reader and generator.
It's of course much easier to scan the label if you have a smart phone with a scanning application, but we know that many people don't have one.
What you can do instead is either trying with your webcam or take a close up of the label with a camera and then pass it to a decoding software.
The software will give you a web link or open it up directly into your browser.

-If you want to add your story to a garment that has been relabeled already:
Once you have the webpage open in your browser you will see a text box and a submit button. You can type in whatever you want and then click submit. We raccomend you to add a date as well. If you save this link in your bookmarks, you will be able in the future to see what happened next to your garment (assuming you will find a better future to your cloth then the garbage bin. Be aware that only you and past and future owners will be able to read the story of the gament. We discourage people to make this link public. This can only create confusion as anyone could say something about a cloth they never had in their hands.

-If you want to relabel a garment that doesn't have a label yet:
The first thing you should do is to write the story of your item; you can do it from here
You can now use a qr-code generator or some online tool for encoding the URL (the address of the page you just created).
Save the image that you generated and the qr-code is ready to be printed.

If you want some ideas on how to print the labels follow this link.

IMPORTANT We discourage people to make the URL connected to a label public. This can only create confusion as anyone could say something about a cloth they never had in their hands. If you want to make the story of your garment public please use only the text content of the page, without making the URL publicly available. We cannot garantee the privacy of the content of the webpage connected to each cloth, it's up to the users to keep this private. If a user wants its garment story to be public, also the stories of previous owners of the garment will be made public.
